Job Description

Visa Crypto Engineering Team is building the next generation of products to facilitate commerce in everyone's digital and mobile lives. Our focus is to build intuitive features that expose profound new value for our customers. We are hiring for experienced an Software Engineer who is a proficient programmer, have experience in building highly scalable systems, and a Crypto/blockchain enthusiast.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Be a member of a highly skilled team seeking systematic approaches to improve engineering productivity, efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of software
  • Work cross-functionally with our product teams, other engineering teams, operations and infrastructure teams to design, develop and implement global products
  • Write good quality code across various programming languages
  • Document design tradeoffs and long-term architecture decisions
  • Proven ability to design, deliver, measure, and manage highly available enterprise scale systems
  • Apply various test methodologies to validate system resilience and availability through high volume use-cases

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• A Crypto enthusiast!

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in building scalable, high-performing distributed systems, asynchronous development frameworks, APIs & webhooks, application instrumentation and monitoring & alerts tools.
  • Experience in the entire Secure Software Development Life cycle including version control, CI/CD, unit-testing and performance testing.
  • Strong backend software development skills, with proficiency in Java or Golang
  • Strong proficiency in the web3 technology stack, DLT platforms such as Ethereum, Solana, Hyperledger, or others L2 scaling networks.
  • Strong proficiency in writing smart contracts using Solidity and/or Rust.
  • Strong understanding of various ERC and SPL token standards.
  • Strong understanding of Smart Contract based wallets e.g. Account Abstraction
  • Strong understanding of various cryptography schemes to Authenticate and Authorize access, sign on-chain operations and store sensitive data.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in payments and financial services a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,100.00 to 154,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
